After reading this article, you will have a basic understanding of drywall screws

Drywall screw – The biggest feature in appearance is the horn head shape, which is divided into double line fine tooth drywall screws and single line coarse tooth drywall screws. The biggest difference between the two is that the thread of the former is double thread, suitable for the connection between gypsum board and metal keel with a thickness not exceeding 0.8mm, while the latter is suitable for the connection between gypsum board and wood keel.

The drywall screw series is one of the most important categories in the entire fastener product line. This product is mainly used for the installation of various gypsum boards, lightweight partitions, and ceiling suspension series.

drywall screw (2)Phosphated drywall screws are the most basic product line, while blue and white zinc drywall screws are a supplement, and their scope of application and purchase price are basically the same. Slightly different is that black phosphating has a certain degree of lubricity, and the attack speed (the speed of entering a specified thickness of steel plate, which is a quality assessment indicator) is slightly better; Blue and white zinc has a slightly better rust prevention effect, and the natural color of the product is light, making it difficult to fade after coating decoration.

There is almost no difference in rust prevention ability between blue white zinc and yellow zinc, only due to differences in usage habits or user preferences.

The thread of the single thread coarse tooth drywall screw is wider, and the corresponding attack speed is also faster. At the same time, because the structure of the wood material itself will not be damaged after being penetrated into the wood, it is more suitable for the installation of wooden keel than the double thread fine tooth drywall screw.

Self drilling drywall screws are used for the connection between gypsum boards and metal keels with a thickness not exceeding 2.3mm, and are available in black phosphating and yellow zinc plating options. The scope of application and purchase price of both are basically the same. Yellow zinc has a slightly better rust prevention effect, and the natural color of the product is light, making it difficult to fade after coating decoration.
