Why screws and nuts are mainly hexagonal?

The hexagonal nut/cap is designed using structural mechanics and hydraulics, fully considering the specific application – the parallelism of the diagonals. If it is a screw with an odd number of sides, the two sides of the wrench are not horizontal. Long ago, there were only fork-shaped wrenches.
